Back to work
Forgot to mention that I went back to work on September 21st. I will be working 2 days from home so it allow my body to rest and not worry about stressing from all the traffic. I'm truly thankful for my job allowing me to do this.
Hmmm, what's to know...I'm just your average, 30 something, female, professional, just loving life as it comes. I just happen to have this rare blood disorder called Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). TTP is a blood disorder that causes blood clots to form in small blood vessels around the body, and leads to a low platelet count (thrombocytopenia).
While the cause of this disease has not been pinpointed, this disease may be caused by the lack of an enzyme (a type of protein) that is involved in blood clotting. Not having enough of this enzyme causes clotting to occur. As the platelets clump together in these clots, fewer platelets are available in the blood in other parts of the body to help with clotting. This can lead to bleeding under the skin and purple-colored spots called purpura.
